পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ): 0; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 16-20; পায়ূ কাঁটা 0; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 2 - 4. Body usually pale, with diffuse dark bars crossing belly and lower half of trunk (Ref. 4281).

Found in coral reefs. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205).
