เงี่ยงครีบหลัง (รวม): 25 - 28; ก้านครีบอ่อนที่หาง (รวม): 2-4; เงี่ยงครีบก้น 2; ก้านครีบอ่อนที่ก้น: 14 - 18. Reddish, green or brown in color; dorsal and anal fin membranes with 9 and 6 transparent windows respectively (Ref. 5496). Juveniles reddish with silvery patches on sides (Ref. 5496).

Inhabits intertidal pools. Gravid females bloated.
