背棘 (總數): 9; 背的軟條 (總數): 10; 臀棘 3; 臀鰭軟條: 9. Males resemble S. bowersi but differs in that the tan area of S. bowersi does not extend as far back as the anal fin (Ref. 1602). Initial phase has a distinctive black spot at front of the anal fin and yellowish tail and soft dorsal fin.
雄性與 S. bowersi 相似但是不同之處為 S. bowersi 的黃褐色區域不延伸到像臀鰭一樣的遠在背上.(參考文獻 1602) 初期階段在臀鰭前面與淡黃色的尾部與軟的背鰭有一個特殊的黑色斑點。
