Etymology: Clariallabes: Latin, clarias, -a, -um = shining + Greek, allabes, -etos = a fish of the Nile, a kind of lamprey (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: H M Simeons collected the holotype or provided the collection that contained it to the Musée Royal d’Histoire Naturelle de Bruxelles. Poll’s etymology does not help and we have been unable to find anything about him. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
