Taxonomic Remarks
Tanzanian populations are regarded as belonging to an undescribed species C. sp. "bifrenatus" by Ref. 95611. A revision of the conspecifity of the populations of Chalinochromis popelini on the eastern and western coast of Lake Tanganyika is necessary.
