Rayons mous dorsaux (Total) : 11; Rayons mous anaux: 20 - 21; Vertèbres: 32. Distinguished from all its congeners from the Orinoco basin by the following combination of characters: no bony hooks on fins of males; snout length 9.9-15.2% of HL; 4-6 teeth in the maxilla; and 17 teeth in the dentary (Ref. 85795).
