背棘 (总数) : 3; 背的软条 (总数) : 12 - 13; 臀棘: 1; 臀鳍软条: 9; 脊椎骨: 27 - 29. This species is distinguished by the following characters: spined posterior and lower margins of the praeoperculum with an unspined notch in the angular part of it; insertion of ventral fins at the level of the vertical of the posterior margin of the pectoral fin insertion; upper jaw extends beyond the vertical of posterior eye margin; soft rays 12-13 in dorsal fin, 9-10 in anal fin; first branchial arch with 27-30 rakers; vertebrae 27-29; pyloric caeca 7 (Ref. 83719).
Body shape (shape guide): fusiform / normal.
This was caught by non-closing fishing gear in water horizons of 1000-0 to 2000-0 m (Ref. 83719).
