Etymology: Rineloricaria: Greek, rhinos = nose + Latin, lorica, loricare = cuirass of corslet of leather; 1706 (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Anhaguapitã in Tupí legend is a devil who clashed with St. Peter. In the legend, the demon became rain and small stones and so created the Uruguay River of southern Brazil. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
