Etymology: Lentipes: Latin, lens, lentis = slow + Latin, pes = foot (Ref. 45335); kaaea: Named after the Chief of the Napwé tribe, Kaaea.
Eponymy: Kaaea is a Napwé Tribal Chief, who kindly permitted the collection of freshwater fishes on tribal lands in New Caledonia. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
