Écologie
marin démersal. Tropical; 0°N - 4°S, 83°W - 79°W (Ref. 114953)
Southeast Pacific: known from the type locality, San Helena Bay, Ecuador.
Taille / Poids / Âge
Maturité: Lm ?  range ? - ? cm
Max length : 39.0 cm TL mâle / non sexé; (Ref. 114953)
A demersal species with unknown depth distribution but presumably inhabits outer continental shelf and/or upper slope (Ref. 114953). Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205). Length of specimen (39 cm TL) was based on a young male observed to have developed state of thorn patches on pectoral fins, and presumambly approaching maturity (Ref. 114953).
Cycle de vie et comportement reproducteur
Maturité | Reproduction | Frai | Œufs | Fécondité | Larves
Oviparous, paired eggs are laid. Embryos feed solely on yolk (Ref. 50449).

Estimations basées sur des modèles
Indice de diversité phylogénétique (Réf.
82804): PD
50 = 0.5000 [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00288 (0.00136 - 0.00613), b=3.25 (3.08 - 3.42), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this Genus-body shape (Ref.

Niveau trophique (Réf.
69278): 3.7 ±0.6 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Résilience (Réf.
120179): Faible, temps minimum de doublement de population : 4,5 à 14 années (Assuming fecundity<100).
Vulnérabilité de la pêche (Ref.
