Lateral line tubes simple; maxillary barbel branched (fimbriate); body coloration plain (Ref. 12693).
Body shape (shape guide): fusiform / normal.
Inhabits rivers over muddy substrate as well as forest streams (Ref. 56749). Occur near the bottom of large rivers. Typically found in the middle Mekong during the dry season and moves into flooded forest during high water periods. Little is known about its biology. Not seen in markets (Ref. 12693, 57235).
