Adults mainly inhabit inner reef slopes with mixed rubble, coral and algae. They aggregate close to the bottom (Ref. 37816), usually in small groups (Ref. 48636). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205). Minimum depth reported taken from Ref. 128797.
