Scales on predorsal and behind pectoral cycloid; on other part of body ctenoid. Spines of 1st dorsal about equal (Ref. 43550). Body shape (shape guide): fusiform / normal.
Adults occur in rocky creeks (Ref. 2847). Also found in small, steep-gradient creeks, usually within 20 km of the sea (Ref. 2847).
