পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ): 0; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 16-20; পায়ূ কাঁটা 0; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 15 - 18. Purple in color but preserved specimens turn brownish (Ref. 6619). Branchiostegal rays: 3-5+4 (Ref. 36689).

Adults probably bathypelagic, young from 10-200 m (Ref. 6533). Feed on copepods (Ref. 6714). Observed hovering vertically (Ref. 6619). Oviparous, with planktonic larvae (Ref. 36689).
