| Remarks | A total blood cell cDNA library was constructed using a 3 year old carp. Although the complete amino acid sequence identities between CßGs and the ß-globin of higher vertebrates were low, functionally important regions such as the a-ß contact region and haem contact region were well conserved. Adult carp was shown to have multiple ß-globin gene family (at least 6 members) (Ref. 32820). |
