Remarks | The analyses of the population structure revealed a high level of gene flow and panmixia in the northern Red Sea and Gulf of Aqaba. A unidirectional gene flow from the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aqaba was revealed in migration analysis (Ref. 55396). MtDNA studies have been used to elucidate the relationship of the species with Pterois volitans, however, further studies using nuclear DNA markers are needed to determine if they can be regarded as separate species (Ref. 55395). |
