Comments: Known from the three tributaries of the Tuy River: the Cagua River, the Mesia River (a tributary of the Guare River) and the Santa Cruz River (a tributary of the Taguaza River). Seems to occur in small rivers of the north slope of Serrania del Interior, Cordillera de La Costa (Ref. 56900).

خارهاي باله پشتي (کل): 1; شعاع نرم باله پشتي (کل): 8. Differs from other species of Cordylancistrus by its unique color pattern: head and body blackish to greenish brown with white irregular spots; abdomen uniformly white; and all fins with whitish spots that simulate bands (Ref. 56900).

Inhabits rivers with transparent waters, moderate to strong flow and bottom generally consisting of stone, gravel and sand (Ref. 56900).
