Raggi dorsali molli (totale): 11; Spine anali 3-4; Raggi anali molli: 40 - 45; Vertebre: 38. The presence of a long thin and up-turned process on the posterosuperior region of the rhinosphenoid is autapomorphic for this species.

Inhabits swamps or marshes of the lower reaches of rivers (Ref. 26543).
