Comments: Originally from east and central Europe, it could be indigenous to the North and East of France (Moselle, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Seine basin and the Saône). Meanwhile, its situation is poorly known and its actual distribution seems very fragmented. It appears to have colonised the provinces of Brittany (except Finistère) where it is utilised in restocking as fish bait (Ref. 11941). In " Annexe III de la Convention de Berne" (Ref. 40476). Also Ref. 30578. Status of threat: Indeterminate (Ref. 74334).
