Raggi dorsali molli (totale): 91-93; Spine anali 2; Raggi anali molli: 44 - 47; Vertebre: 98 - 100. Second anal fin spine stout and spur-like. Body dark brown, becoming lighter ventrally; the opercle black, inside of the mouth and gill cavities black.
