Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 102-106; Rayons mous anaux: 82 - 86; Vertèbres: 58 - 60. This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: D 102-106; A 82-86; pectoral-fin rays 33-37; total vertebrae 58-60; long gill rakers 6-8; pseudobranchial filaments 2-3; snout is shorter than horizontal eye window; no spines on posterior margin of preopercle; pelvic-fin length 8.3-11.5% SL; longest gill filament 6.9-10.0% HL; vomerine tooth patch triangular and each side is concave; proximal and distal parts of dorsal and anal fins are pale, black middle part black; middle part of body with a series of 11-13 pale spots (Ref. 90264).
