Etymology: Cobitis: Greek, kobitis, -idos = a kind of sardine; also related with the voice Greek, kobios, Latin gobius = gudgeon (Ref. 45335).
Issue
This species is synonym of Cobitis choii Kim & Son, 1984 in Eschmeyer (CofF ver. May 2011: Ref. 86870) following Bogutskaya et al. (2008: Ref. 82587). The species page will be removed.
