To facilitate use of FishBase without access to the Internet, we have created a stand alone version that can be purchased for US$ 50 or € 40 to cover cost of development and distribution. No-cost versions may be available in special cases. Running FishBase locally requires Windows XP, Windows 7 or higher, and at least 512Mb of RAM (recommended 1Gb or higher). The FishBase installation will take up about 8.2Gb of hard disk space. Advanced users will be able to write their own queries against the underlying MySQL database (Database structure).
