Épines dorsales (Total): 3; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 28-31; Épines anales 3; Rayons mous anaux: 16 - 18.
Occurs inshore (Ref. 7300). Found in or near holes or among corals. Mimics the angelfish Centropyge nox (Ref. 9710). Also found in coral and rocky reefs on slopes and drop-offs, usually solitary (Ref 90102).
