Eastern Atlantic: known only from the type specimens taken from Mauritania to the Gulf of Guinea. Not in Compagno's 1999 checklist (Ref. 35766).

Occurs on the shelf and upper slope waters (Ref. 4426). Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205).
