Etymology: Acropoma: Greek, akro = topmost, summit + Greek, poma, -atos = cover (Ref. 45335); musorstom: Named after the acronym used for the series of exploratory cruises in the waters of Vanuatu, during which the holotype of this species was collected.
Eponymy: This binomial commemorates the exploratory cruises to the Indo-West Pacific region jointly sponsored by ORSTOM and MNHN. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
