Dorsal spines (total): 6; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9; Anal soft rays: 8; Vertebrae: 21 - 24. This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: absence of spiny tubercles or fleshy papillae on body; anterior one to three mandibular pores each have a short barbel-like tube; no interorbital pore; presence of suborbital pore; opercular flap is triangular; no papillae on ventral disk; caudal-fin is long, 32.7-42.1% of SL (Ref. 115553).
