Short description

Dorsal soft rays (total): 12; Anal soft rays: 8. This species differs from all congeners by a combination of the following characters: head dorsally and laterally covered by dark brown dots; 5-8 large brown blotches along lateral midline of the body; head length 20.7-24.9 % SL; caudal peduncle length 12.2-13.4 % SL; eye diameter 4.8-6.6 % SL; and no discernable sexual dimorphism (Ref. 95078).
Body shape (shape guide): elongated.
Found only in the mouth of the Nam Paw stream. Appears to be restricted to the lowest stretch of this stream (Ref. 95078).
