Etymology: Rineloricaria: Greek, rhinos = nose + Latin, lorica, loricare = cuirass of corslet of leather; 1706 (Ref. 45335); langei: Named for Professor Rudolf Bruno Lange, one of the first curators of the zoological collections of Museu de História Natural Capão da Imbuia (MHNCI) during the forties of the Twentieth Century, in which the ichthyological collection is included.
Eponymy: Professor Rudolf Bruno Lange (1922–2016) was a Brazilian zoologist and botanist who was one of the first curators of the zoological collection at the Paraná Museum, where his collection of arachnids is held. [...] (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
