Dorsal soft rays (total): 90 - 107. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: no distinct black spots dorsally and along its midbody; pelvic fin length 1.0-2.2 % SL; dorsal fin rays 90-107; precaudal vertebrae 43-49; origin of anal fin below dorsal fin rays 44-56 (Ref. 128809); with protruding lower jaw and with tissue flaps anteriorly (Ref. 118598).
