Light red with two posterior dark brown bars, the first linking rear base of second dorsal and anal fins, and the broader second posteriorly on caudal peduncle.
Body shape (shape guide): short and / or deep.
Prefers coral and rocky areas with little sand. Looks very similar to Apogon planifrons which occurs in the same area.
