Etymology: Owstonia: Named for Alan Owston (1853‒1915), an amateur naturalist, yachtsman and collector of Asian wildlife, notably fishes from Japan and China; sibogae: Named for the East Indies Siboga Expedition; the results of which (published in many parts from 1901 to 1986) were edited by Max Weber.
