Etymology: Belonophago: Greek, belone = needle; any fish with sharp pointed snout; also Pierre Belon, 1517-64, French zoologist born in Le Mans. Professor at the College de France, author of " La nature et diversité des poissons", 1551 + Greek, phagein = to eat (Ref. 45335).
Eponymy: Dr André Tinant (1901–1940), whose doctorate was awarded by the University of Louvain, was Secretary-General of the Palm-oil plantations of the Belgian Congo (Democratic Republic of the Congo) where he worked (1926–1930, 1932–1935 & 1935–1938). [...] (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
