Frequently found in waters with slow current or the counter current zones of small creeks with clear water and sandy bottom. It occupies the upstream portion of rivers before a waterfall. Its capture in great numbers suggest a gregarious behavior (Ref. 12225). Its reproduction in captivity has not been reported (Ref. 27188). Maximum length 5.0 SL (Ref. 12225).
