Ecology
Marine; bathypelagic; depth range 0 - 3184 m (Ref. 58018). Tropical; 1°N - 0°N, 83°W - 82°W (Ref. 40870)
Central Eastern Pacific: known only from a single leptocephalus collected between Ecuador and the Galapagos, 0°36'N, 82°45'W (type locality). Unassociated with an adult eel but may prove to be the larva of Chlopsis bicollaris.
