Etymology: Pseudeutropius: Greek, pseudes = false + Greek, eu = well + keel, in reference to the compressed body of the fish.
Eponymy: Mrs. Moolenburgh, who supplied with her husband, Pieter Moolenburgh (below), a large collection of fishes from Sumatra to the authors, including eponymous type. (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
