Etymology: Synaptura: Greek, syn, symphysis = grown together + Greek, aptein = to join + Greek, oura = tail (Ref. 45335). More on author: Fowler.
This species has no status in Eschmeyer (CofF ver. Jul. 2010: Ref. 84883), but is placed in the genus Synaptura. Please send references, or more studies are needed.
