Marine; demersal; depth range 82 - 230 m (Ref. 35928). Subtropical; 25°N - 2°S
Eastern Pacific: mid Baja California, Mexico to about 3°S.

Max length : 21.4 cm SL male/unsexed; (Ref. 27327); 24.6 cm SL (female)
Found over muddy and sandy bottoms of the continental shelf (Ref. 9274). Depth range based on holotype (Ref. 9274). Oviparous, with planktonic larvae (Ref. 35928).
