Diagnosis

Diagnosis: The more elongated body shape, the convex margin of the dorsal and anal fins, the shape of the adipose fin and the caudal fin, and the body colouration distinguish this species from Salmo macrostigma (Ref. 119427).

Description: The body form is more slender as in Salmo macrostigma; body depth 4.8 times in its standard length; head length 3.5 times in standard length (Ref. 119427). Eye diameter 4 times in head length and about equal to interorbital width; upper jaw extending backwards to below the posterior part of eye (Ref. 119427). Vomerine teeth in two rows (Ref. 119427). Dorsal fin located closer to caudal fin than snout tip; adipose fin height 1 to 1.5 times eye diameter; anal fin closer to pelvic fin than caudal fin; pectoral fin length 3/4 of head length; pelvic fin located under middle of dorsal fin (Ref. 119427). Caudal fin depth nearly 4 times in caudal fin length (Ref. 119427).

Colouration: Sides of head with large dark spots; the body colouration brownish dorsally, below lateral line bluish silver-white; dorsally apparently marbled and spotted; dorsal fin with dark transversal band; pectoral, pelvic, anal and caudal fins white or pale brown, with brown margin (Ref. 119427).
