Diagnosis

Based on materials from Moraca-Zeta river system which flows into the Lake Skadar, Leucos albus can be distinguished from its closest relative L. basak by having higher number of pored scales on lateral line 41-44 (vs. 37-39 in L. basak) and 9 modal number of dorsal branched rays (vs. 8 in L. albus). Flanks are silvery, without lateral bands as observed in L. aula (Ref. 96829).
