Diagnosis

This species is distinguished by the following characters: D XIV,11; A II,11; pectoral rays 18; spiniform caudal rays 3; tubed lateral-line scales 14-17; gill rakers 7-8 + 19-20 = 27-28; depth of body 2.0-2.2 in SL; sides of body with alternating blue grey and brassy yellow stripes; abdomen and lower part of head blue grey; fins are bluish except the base of caudal fin which is brown; apex of anal fin with a prominent black spot (Ref. 82433).
