Description: Characterized by tan color with brown reticulations on head and side; head length 6.9-7.4 in TL; body depth 24-2635 in TL; head and trunk 2.0-2.1 in tail; very low and inconspicuous dorsal and anal fins, continuous around tip of tail; no pectoral fins; origin of dorsal fin slightly before anus; pointed snout, projecting well beyond lower jaw; tubular anterior nostril; posterior nostril at edge of upper lip; uniserial jaw teeth; very elongate tongue, extending outside mouth with fleshy appendage (Ref. 90102).
