Diagnosis: Pectoral rays 15 (rarely 16). Gill rakers 6-7 + 20-22 (total 26-29). Body depth 3.6-4.2 in SL; head length (HL) 2.85-3.1 in SL; snout short, its length 1.85-2.3 in HL; barbel length 1.351.5 in HL; posterior end of maxilla evenly convex; longest dorsal spine 1.65-2.0 in HL; penultimate dorsal ray 1.05-1.15 in length of last dorsal ray; pectoral-fin length 1.45-1.65 in HL; pelvic-fin length 1.5-1.7 in HL. Body pink with no dark spot on side of body; barbels are white (Ref. 54393).
