This species is distinguished by the following characters: pungent spines in D2 VII-VIII, found somewhat posterior the middle of the caudal part of the body, associated with the caudal vertebrae 37-46; all spiny rays (D1 + D2) 62-67; number of rays in D1 is greater than in D3, 54-60 and 44-46; vertebrae 110-113; D 108-111 (54-60 VII-VIII 44-46); A 93-94; scales are developed in a continuous cover not only on the caudal part of the body, but also in front of the beginning of A, reaching the base of the pectoral fin (Ref. 130195).
