Comments: | Introduction of big head carp (Aristichthys nobilis) caused significant changes in diversifying number of cultured fish species as well as fish community structure in Vietnam. After introduction the carp being a zooplankton feeder, fast growing, highly fecund and with easy response to induced breeding the bighead carp has rapidly become an important cultured fish species in Vietnam. Occurs in reservoirs and natural lakes contributing about 15-20% total fish production in these water bodies. Also Ref. 13364. Ref: Lever, C., 1996 |
