Comments

Known only from the Central Catchment Nature Reserve. Occurs at the surface of shaded slow-flowing forest streams with acidic water. An ambush predator which preys mainly on small fish and shrimps. A mouth brooder. Sometimes marketed in the aquarium trade.Threatened due to habitat degradation and illegal collection. Conservation measures include continued protection of its natural habitat from human impacts, and strict policing against illegal collectors (Ref. 85309).

Status of threat: critically endangered (Ref. 85350).
