Common in some coastal rainforest streams in the Daintree/Bloomfield area and near Behana and Harvey Creeks in north Queensland. Rarely collected south of Cairns. Also collected in recent surveys by DPI long term monitoring team Daintree River (2000) and Johnstone River (near Cairns) 2000 and 2001 (Michael Hutchison, pers. comm.).
