Type locality of the holotype of Amphilius pedunculus: 'Tanzania, Malagarasi River at Lower Igamba Falls (Kasagwe), Malagarasi River drainage, 5°10'48"S, 30°03'03"E' (Ref. 103388). Known from Malagarazi River drainage (Ref. 78218, 103381), Luiche River (Ref. 103388), Lake Rukwa basin (Ref. 27292, 78218, 103388) and upper Great Ruaha River (Ref. 103388).
