Type locality, Praia do Atalaia, Fernando de Noronha Archipelago, MNRJ 31887 (holotype of Scartella itajobi, 4.57 cm Sl, male). Collected from Fernando de Noronha Archipelago, a volcanic island located 345 km off northeastern Brazil and also occurs in Atol das Rocas, an atoll formed by the growth of reefs on the submerged peaks of the submarine ridge distant 100 km to the west of Fernando de Noronha Archipelago (Ref. 80496). |
