Occurs only in subterranean rivers in suburbs of Guilin City, tributaries of the Lijiang River, which belongs to the Xijiang River drainage, the largest tributary of the Zhujiang River basin. Occurs in caves or subterranean rivers within approximately 30 km northeast, 20 km southeast, 25 km south and 15 km northwest of Guilin City (Ref. 76842). Present in Pearl River (Ref. 89718). Also Ref. 95535.
